Follow-up for Transsphenoidal Surgery	

Careful follow-up is essential after transsphenoidal surgery, and consideration should be given to further therapy such as pituitary radiotherapy or re-exploration of the pituitary fossa. Formerly, bilateral adrenalectomy was the most common definitive therapy: however, its significant mortality and morbidity have been greatly reduced by preoperative preparation with metyrapone or other medical therapy.
